FALL IN LINE

This public-space project is inspired by the foundational elements of traditional community: fire, water, earth, and air.

On a 4’x4’ white wall, we hang individual white cards to represent the future of community. Each card represents one. One could represent you. These white cards hang with a singular pin in a predetermined and formalized pattern. Each individual will be equal distance from the other. A grid will be formed. Everyone will FALL IN LINE. We introduce the element of air. As the white cards blow in the breeze, they are living. There is movement, but they never stray from the area they have been assigned. FALL IN LINE. Fire and water nearby to survive. The fertile earth remains the foundation for continued growth. However, in order to flourish, you must FALL IN LINE.
