I HAVE A DREAM

Sound has volume, depth, and dimension. This project generates a vector sound wave shape that is translated to sculpture, adding an additional layer of dimension to the spoken word.

There are often antidotes or words of advice that are shared with us throughout our lives however we only ever have time to process the audio in the moment, not save what that person has said to recall at a later time. This audio sound wave sculpture allows us to recall the memory of that phrase, the wisdom that someone special has shared with us. It becomes an audio artifact.

This public artwork is an audio artifact from Martin Luther King Jr. speech, “I HAVE A DREAM.” The sound sculpture will be placed at the water’s edge, with the reflection allowing the formation of the complete sound wave.
