At Design Curio in Miami, a number of designers showed concern that tradition and cultural identity are being left behind.  (December 2017) Each Curio reveals a total environment of objects, textures, artifacts, and ideas that challenge and contextualize familiar design narratives.

MEETING #1

We discussed the logistics of the “brown cloud” in motion. For sensors, perhaps PIR is not the best tool for this project. Kinect? Next steps would be:

  1. Create a smaller scale version (module) that can be duplicated into modules.
  2. Create 4-5 ceramic clouds (w/Mia)
  3. We’ll (you and I) will develop the best motion detection possible for the module.

PROJECT #2

I would like to start the development of a surveillance piece with the micro-cameras we discussed. The concept is centered around the object acting as viewer/image collector, whilst being viewed. You recommended the purchase of SD cards and a few additional materials for the complete electronics needed for this project. Those are on ordered and will be arriving soon.
